In late May or early June landlocked salmon will be found near the surface. I troll two sinking flylines, one off each side of the boat at right angles. I tie 30 feet of leader and tie one dark fly such as the Nine-Three on one line and a light colored fly on the other such as a Black Ghost. I never run a wobble spoon on one side and a streamer fly on the other. They require two different boat speeds.
In clear New England waters it helps to add refective flash tape to your wobble spoons. My favorite is to add a strip of green flash tape to the outside bend of a white Mooselook Wobbler. Maine smelt take on a greenish tinge around mid-June.
